We love the nightlife. And we know you do too. That's why we've launched our new Best of Citysearch campaign to find out where your favorite places are for after-hours fun. Know of the absolute best bloody mary in town? Coolest hotel bar? Happy hour haunt you just can't live without? Just go to that business listing on our site, click on the "Nominate for Best of Citysearch" tab and vote! To get you in the spirit, here are a few of my personal favorites ...

My Nightlife Nominations

  1. 1 4.5 Star Rating: Recommended Brick Store Pub
    Read Reviews

125 East Court Square, Decatur, GA 30030 (map)

BEST BEER SELECTION: I hate the drive to Decatur, so I typically go to either Porter, Bookhouse or Midway on nights when I want an obscure beer find. But we have to tip our hat to the original beer bar in Atlanta, Brick Store. I can spend hours escaping to that upstairs tree-house-of-a-room (the Belgium bar) drinking and talking shop with the bartenders.

  2. 2 4.5 Star Rating: Recommended Fado Irish Pub & Restaurant - Atlanta
    Read Reviews

273 Buckhead Ave, Atlanta, GA 30305 (map)

BEST AFTER WORK BAR: Citysearch operates out of a loft in Downtown's Castleberry Hill district, but if I worked in Buckhead, Fado would be my choice for an after work pint. It's easily accessible, does a killer-cheap happy hour menu and has a rooftop patio. No matter if you're a blackberry-happy account executive or a server just off a lunch shift, it's a comfy spot for a drink.

  3. 3 3.5 Star Rating: Average Graveyard Tavern
    Read Reviews

1245 Glenwood Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30312 (map)

BEST SINGLES SCENE: As MJQ has gone more toward the 18+ scene and the preppy popped collar crowd has began to embrace EAV like it's their new "Highlands," Graveyard turned into the perfect singles melting point--drawing both the preppy invaders and single (but of-age) hipsters.

  4. 4 5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended Highland Inn Ballroom Lounge
    Read Reviews

644 North Highland Ave, Atlanta, GA 30306 (map)

BEST DIVE BAR: I get paid to go out to new trendy places, upscale restaurants and fancy events, but when I'm not on business, I want to head to a quiet place with cheap beer and little commotion. So in moments of escapism, I head to the underground speak-easy, Highland Ballroom Lounge in Va-Hi. Drinks are stiff, the space is dark and there are games of checkers and connect four for drunken amusement among friends

  5. 5 4 Star Rating: Recommended Star Community Bar
    Read Reviews

437 Moreland Ave, Atlanta, GA 30307 (map)

BEST BARTENDER: I tip my hat to Holeman and Finch bar guru Greg Best for all his interesting concoctions, but my favorite bartender in the city is Edward at Star Bar. I don't have a last name, but he's the one that looks like he could have been a member of the Strokes. Always remembers your name, pours generously, doesn't leave you hanging and will occasionally give you a beer on him. Good man, go see him.

  6. 6 3 Star Rating: Average Whiskey Blue
    Read Reviews

3377 Peachtree Rd, Atlanta, GA 30316 (map)

BEST ROMANTIC BAR: While I am typically more of a dive bar man myself, it's tough not to swoon over the elegance and upscale cool that is the Whiskey Blue. One part 60's Hollywood mod, one part rock 'n' roll--if you don't fall in love with your date, you'll certainly fall in love with the space. Though bring the heavy plastic, it's LA-expensive.
